Dogsitting

I am now dogsitting for the month of February. It's the dog that normally lives here. He, Porter, will be going to the sister's place in Victoria once she moves into her new house, but the dog can't be at the friend's house where she is staying now. He was at another friend's house, but wasn't getting along with the other pets there so they asked me if I would look after him for a month. With the deal that I'm getting on this house, how could I say no?

He is a boxer and mostly well behaved. He looks like the picture on the link and is a medium sized, but very strong dog. He doesn't bark much which is great. He's a pretty energetic dog and luckily there are trails really close to here. He doesn't always listen while out walking so he's getting used to his leash more and it's less stressful for me. I would not have been doing this if it weren't for my past training in what dog behaviours were - thanks especially to Sean and George for this. I've come a long way!!! Blue, Sage's dog, is still the easiest dog that I've ever dog sat for. I'm just getting used to the routine of taking him for walks, etc and will get in a groove just in time for him to go. I'm sure I'll miss him then, but still not used to a wet nose following me around EVERYWHERE. He has interfered a little with my already little social life up here, but it's now only for a couple more weeks. At least he's happy in his own home here.

Fast Food Frenzy

I couldn't believe it last week. I was going to a movie in an area with some strip malls. There was so much drive through traffic for the Wendy's/Tim Horton's at that dinner time, that there was a man out directing traffic in the parking lot. I couldn't believe it. Someone gets paid to make sure there are no accidents while getting fast food for dinner. What's the world coming to?
