Single Again

This was the name of a post from last summer as well. At least I got in some good summer adventures in with Mark this time. We decided that, as usual for me, that it was a good relationship, but it wasn't great and we weren't THE ONE for each other. It was a very mutual and friendly parting although sad of course. The last couple of weeks have been quite busy and tiring, but something amazing must be just around the corner for me. Can't wait to see what/who it is!!!

Skookumchuck Rapids

After finishing Ironman, I went for a relaxing weekend up the Sunshine Coast. I camped out at a friends cabin up there. One of the nights I did a short hike/run to see the Skookumchuck Rapids which is up near the ferry to Powell River. At certain times when the tides are the highest/lowest there is a large amount of water funnelling through a very narrow area. Whatever is on the bottom there forms this really large standing wave which is quite uncommon. Whitewater kayakers love to surf on the wave. There are lots of dangerous whirlpools around the wave so they have to be very careful. You can check the best times to view the standing wave on the internet or at the info centre at the start of the hike. Good to see and the hike is for any level.
